Youdle was born in March 2020, when Memphis journalist Kontji Anthony learned from her sister Aurora that store shelves were empty back home in New Rochelle, New York. After mailing a care package, Kontji launched a Facebook group in the city she now calls home — Memphis — called “Pandemic Product Sightings”: Memphians crowdsourcing photos of essential products back in stock, alerting one another to protect their families. A third sister, Johnita, jumped in as the group swelled to 34,000 members, and that village became Youdle — a platform that uses web data and neighbor-to-neighbor engagement to help shoppers find the products their families need, by location. The beta launched in December 2022. Youdle is WBENC-certified women-owned — built by three sisters, rooted in one of the most generous cities in America.

A Friend of Labor Since the Kellogg's Lockout

Kontji Anthony and CLC President Kevin Bradshaw have been friends since the 2013–2014 Kellogg's lockout, when BCTGM Local 252-G families spent nine months locked out of the Memphis cereal plant and the whole city learned what solidarity looks like. Kontji comes from a family with deep labor roots, and her work has carried that spirit ever since — using media, technology, and community to make sure Memphis families are seen, informed, and taken care of. Youdle is that same solidarity, rebuilt as an app.

Youdle finds where a product is in stock; our Fair Price Watch — built with UFCW Local 1529 grocery workers in mind — reports where the price is unfair.
