Foundation Steward
A union steward is the frontline representative of the union. You are the bridge between the members and management. Your role is to enforce the contract, protect workers' rights, and ensure fairness on the job.
As a steward, you are the first point of contact for members who have workplace concerns. You represent the union at the workplace level, and your actions directly impact how members view the union.
• First point of contact for members with workplace issues
• Enforce the collective bargaining agreement (contract)
• Protect members against unfair treatment
• Communicate between the union and its members
• Investigate potential grievances
• Represent members in meetings with management
A good steward listens to members, knows the contract, stays calm under pressure, and always fights for fairness.
