What We Do

The Mississippi AFL-CIO is the state labor federation representing affiliated local unions and central labor councils across Mississippi. We are the bridge between Mississippi's working families and the national AFL-CIO.

Our work is rooted in solidarity, safety, dignity, and freedom — and powered by the locals, councils, and allied organizations that affiliate with us.

  • Legislative advocacy at the Mississippi State Capitol
  • COPE political education, endorsements, and member mobilization
  • Support for affiliate organizing & contract campaigns
  • Workers' Day at the Capitol coordination
  • Annual Labor Day & community solidarity events
  • Rapid-response for strikes, lockouts, and worker rights actions
