F.F.U.N. — Freedom From Unnecessary Negatives — provides at-risk youth and young adults holistic alternatives to deter crime and senseless killings, addressing the contributors head-on: drugs, alcohol, low self-esteem, lack, and literacy. Founded and led by Stevie Moore, F.F.U.N. was born from the deepest loss a parent can know — and for more than two decades it has turned that grief into prevention, intervention, and hope on the streets of Memphis.

Stop the Killing

The wake-up call — educating how crime and senseless killings devastate families, advocating violence prevention and intervention, and engaging the entire community: leaders, government, business, churches, ex-offenders, and families.

It's Up2Me

Empowering individuals in urban communities to take ownership of changing their lifestyles, behaviors, and communication — at school, church, work, in the community, with peers, and in relationships.

The Daily Survival Plan

Motivational speakers share personal experiences and real talk about the consequences of bad decisions — giving young people concrete strategies to avoid negative influences and behavior.

Support for Families

F.F.U.N.'s collaborative partners provide assistance, resources, and support to those impacted by violence — because no family should walk that road alone.

Tip Line & Reporting

A tip line and online form for reporting crime and criminal activity — giving the community a safe way to help stop violence before it takes another life.

Community Partnership

Grassroots organizations, spiritual leaders, victims, ex-offenders, and local and state government working together to create safe neighborhoods.

Stevie Moore's Story

On May 26, 2003, Stevie Moore's son Prentice was shot and killed with an AK-47 assault rifle after leaving a Memphis club. Most people never recover from that. Stevie Moore built a movement from it. As founder and president of F.F.U.N., he has spent over twenty years on the front line of Memphis violence prevention — in schools, churches, courtrooms, and street corners — telling young people the truth about where the wrong road ends, and proving there's a way off of it.

A Community Partner of Labor Education

Safe communities and good jobs are the same fight. A young person with a trade, a mentor, and a future is the strongest violence prevention there is — which is why F.F.U.N.'s work lines up directly with labor's apprenticeship pathways, second-chance hiring, and youth development partners.
