Why this fight matters
- Tennessee is one of only ~13 states that still taxes groceries — a tax that hits low-income and working families the hardest.
- The grocery tax is regressive: it takes a far bigger bite out of a worker's paycheck than a wealthy household's.
- TN4All's solution is a fair trade: close the corporate tax loopholes that cost the state over $1 billion, and use it to end the tax on food.
- Repeal bills target a July 1, 2026 start — and momentum is building on both sides of the aisle for the 2026 session.
