Dawg Team Apparel USAPamper your pets, Dawg style — Memphis' only Black-owned pet store carrying NFL, NBA, NHL and NCAA pet apparel.
Calvin and Audrey Morrow started Dawg Team Apparel in April 2019 selling pet apparel as vendors. When their own dog, Buddy Leroy, ran into health problems, the two of them went looking for products that actually suited him — and ended up building the store they couldn't find. By August 2020 they had a boutique booth inside Painted Tree Marketplace in Cordova; then came the storefront at 420 N. Cleveland Street in Crosstown. Today it is jerseys, sweaters and bandanas, treats and accessories, in-store and mobile grooming, pet boarding, and a self-serve dog wash — one stop, and the dog walks out looking better than you do.
Calvin and Audrey Morrow own it together — a Black-owned family business that grew out of their own dog's health scare. Six years on, they are still behind the counter.
Authentic NFL, NBA, NHL and NCAA pet jerseys — Grizzlies to Bears to Buckeyes — plus sweaters, bandanas, tees, premium treats and accessories. Shop the storefront in Crosstown or order online and have it shipped.
In-store grooming and mobile grooming both. As one customer put it: proximity is not an issue, because they will come to you.
Pet boarding when you travel, and a self-serve wash with the tubs, the equipment and the elbow grease supplied — so a 180-pound Saint Bernard is somebody else's plumbing problem, not yours.
Calvin and Audrey donate a portion of sales to the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County.
Every dollar spent at a Memphis-owned storefront circulates here instead of leaving with a national chain. This one is family-run, Black-owned, six years deep in Crosstown, gives a cut of sales to the Humane Society, and will drive to your house to groom your dog. That is exactly the kind of small business this Hub exists to point our members toward.
