INTERNATIONAL LEADERSHIP

The officers steering 140 years of solidarity.

INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT
Anthony Shelton

Has led the BCTGM through the Nabisco and Kellogg's strikes of 2021 and now presses Apollo Global Management on Maker's Pride / Hearthside workers' rights. Before the presidency, he was the BCTGM Vice President who stood with Local 252G through the 295-day Kellogg's Memphis lockout of 2013-14.

INTERNATIONAL SECRETARY-TREASURER
David Woods

The financial steward of the BCTGM and the officer who issues the Convention Call under Article III of the International Constitution. As an International Representative, Brother Woods was on the ground in Memphis throughout the 295-day Kellogg's lockout — and is now the steady hand at the wheel as 1,000+ delegates assemble in Hollywood for the 42nd Convention.

INDUSTRIES WE REPRESENT

Three trades. One contract fight at a time.

Bakery & Confectionery

Bakeries, cookie and cracker plants, candy factories, chocolate manufacturers — from Mondelez/Nabisco to Hostess to local craft bakeries.

Grain Milling

Flour mills, cereal plants, oat & corn processors — the workers who turn the harvest into the food on America's table.

Tobacco Processing

Tobacco processing and product manufacturing — a workforce whose union history reaches back to the fight against the American Tobacco Trust.

THE FIGHTS THAT DEFINE US

A union you can name by its picket lines.

2013-2014

Kellogg's Lockout — 295 Days in Memphis

Local 252G President Kevin Bradshaw led 226 BCTGM members through one of the longest lockouts in modern American labor history — defeating Kellogg's two-tier proposal. Then-VP Anthony Shelton, then-International Representative David Woods, and Senior VP Zach Townsend stood with Memphis the whole way.

2021

Nabisco / Mondelez — 5 weeks, 5 cities

Over 1,000 BCTGM members at Mondelez/Nabisco plants in Portland, Chicago, Richmond, Norcross, and a sales hub strike against forced overtime, two-tier benefits, and the offshoring of American bakery jobs. Workers win.

2021

Kellogg's — 11 weeks, 4 plants

1,400 BCTGM members at Kellogg's plants in Lansing, Battle Creek, Omaha, and Memphis walk out against a two-tier wage system. When the CEO threatens permanent replacements, the country rallies. The contract is won.

2024-2025

Hearthside / Maker's Pride / Apollo

BCTGM and AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler press Apollo Global Management on workers' rights violations at the co-manufacturer behind Kellogg, Hershey, General Mills, and Mondelez/Nabisco.
