She never stopped.

32 years later, Ruth Rawlings-Banks and Feed The Needy deliver full holiday meal boxes — turkey, produce, pantry staples — to THOUSANDS of Mid-South families every Easter and Thanksgiving. Volunteers start packing at 3 a.m.

But this year, funding cuts forced them to drop 3,300 families from the list.

On May 26, 2003, Stevie Moore's son Prentice was shot and killed leaving a Memphis club.

Most people never recover from that. Stevie Moore built a movement from it.

For over 20 years, F.F.U.N. — Freedom From Unnecessary Negatives — has pulled Memphis youth back from the edge: Stop the Killing, It's Up2Me, and support for families impacted by violence. Because a young person with a mentor, a trade, and a future is the strongest violence prevention there is.
